Hiking
The character of the South Bohemia landscape is unusually variegated, offering ideal conditions for hiking. The dense network of marked hiking trails makes it easy to acquaint yourself with the most precious that the nature here has to offer, primarily Šumava, the Nové Hrady and Písecké mountain areas and others, all closely tied in with the transportation system. The system of marking trails from the Czech Hiking Club, renowned throughout all of Europe as unique, is supplemented with a collection of hiking maps that cover the entire territory of the Czech Republic. Hikers in South Bohemia are treated to nearly 5000 kilometers of marked trails that lead their visitors to the most interesting locations. It is only in the still of nature, uninterrupted by civilization or traffic, that one can fully appreciate the smells, the song of birds, and the sound of water, or to observe the play of shadows in the crowns of the trees.
