Castle Museum
It's time for a journey through time! The Castle Museum takes visitors back to the era of the Lords of Krumlov, the Rosenbergs, and other prominent nobles who resided in Český Krumlov over the centuries and shaped its character.
On the ground floor of the Castle Museum, there is a space for refreshments or educational activities, a study room for researchers, and an entry center. There is also a book and souvenir shop. The Castle Museum offers visitors a new, beautiful view of the entire town of Český Krumlov, becoming a place not only for education but also for relaxation.
The exhibition itself is located on the upper floor. It has the character of a historical museum installation from the 19th century. The interiors are furnished with historical lighting, restored tile stoves, and replicas of old museum display cases.
In the first two rooms, the history of the Český Krumlov Castle and the noble families of the Rosenbergs, Eggenbergs, and Schwarzenbergs, who resided in Český Krumlov over the centuries, are presented. Visitors can see rare artifacts from the castle's depositories – such as the Schwarzenberg Guard collection, artifacts from the mint, and the armory. A model of the Český Krumlov Castle depicting its appearance in the mid-16th century is also on display.
The Castle Museum also includes an exhibition of ecclesiastical monuments from the depository of the Český Krumlov Castle. One of the biggest attractions of the Castle Museum is undoubtedly the fragment of a Baroque reliquary with the skeleton of St. Reparatus from the former Minorite Monastery in Český Krumlov.
