Jindra's Educational Trail

Jindra's Educational Trail

Take a walk through the romantic Jindřiš Valley along the Hamerský Stream.

Explore fascinating places located just outside the town – within easy reach! Jindra's Educational Trail follows the red tourist trail between Jindřichův Hradec and Malý Ratmírov.

The trail was established and is maintained by the Hamerský potok Civic Association. It runs eastward from Jindřichův Hradec to Malý Ratmírov through the valley of the Hamerský Stream. The stream here has shaped both a narrow rocky canyon and a wide floodplain. The trail tells the story of the stream itself, its nearby inhabitants, and each information board includes a section for preschool and younger school-age children.

The trail can be divided into four sections:

  • Around Vajgar Pond – panels prepared for the town of Jindřichův Hradec (about 1 km)
  • Jindřichův Hradec – Jindřiš (about 4 km)
  • Jindřiš – Blažejov (about 3 km)
  • Blažejov – Malý Ratmírov (about 3 km)

The total trail length is around 11 km. You can view it online, but it's much more exciting to explore it in person. We recommend using the narrow-gauge railway from Jindřichův Hradec.
