EV 13 – Stage 3: From Vyšší Brod to Sandl
EuroVelo 13 is the most thematically unique long-distance route in the South Bohemian Region. It leads partly through Bavaria and Austria, and partly on the Czech side. The theme of this cycling trail is the former "Iron Curtain", which divided Europe for more than 40 years. This segment is just a fraction of the over 10,000 km long cycling route from Nordkapp to the Aegean Sea. Along the trail, you’ll find many reminders of this turbulent history – in small museums set in nature, you’ll see relics and artifacts from that time, as well as remains from the interwar period. This leaflet presents a route of approx. 347 km, of medium difficulty, suitable for trekking bikes.
