Peasant Festival Holašovice 2026

The picturesque South Bohemian village of Holašovice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be the venue for the traditional Peasant Festival from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July 2026.

Traditional Crafts Fair

The twenty-seventh Crafts Fair with demonstrations of traditional Czech crafts will be held in the picturesque surroundings of the Holašovice farmhouses. A rich cultural programme, more than 200 stalls and a shuttle service from České Budějovice and back are prepared for visitors.

The Old Bohemian Fair in the setting of the Holašovice farmhouses is organised in a similar way to the markets in the second half of the nineteenth century or the beginning of the twentieth century. Contemporary folk art, handicrafts and other examples of folk creativity of the golden Czech hands are presented.

Visitors will once again have the unique opportunity to see original handicraft techniques, skill and flair for traditional craftsmanship and even try out some of the work for themselves. A good fair includes popular entertainment, so there will be performances, jugglers and, for example, a wooden hand carousel. We will play like the children of our parents and grandparents, catch fish or compete for the best South Bohemian cake or the best Buchteln. There will be a traditional and exceptionally rich cultural programme with various genres such as brass music, folk, folklore or country music.
