Lipno Lake

Lipno Lake is the largest artificial lake in the Czech Republic. It´s the ideal place for spending a holiday.

Skating on the frozen lake of Lipno is one of the most popular winter activities, attracting thousands of visitors not only from the Czech Republic. The Lipno Lake is our largest water area and freezes from December to March. As soon as the ice reaches a safe thickness of approximately 18 cm, there are two skating tracks - first which measures almost 11 km (between Lipno nad Vltavou and Frymburk), and second from Horni Plana with 15 km. By joining the two tracks a record trail of 38 km from Lipno nad Vltavou to Pernek (this route is not regularly adjusted) is created.
