Historical festivities of Jakub Krčín with a market

Venue: Třeboň

18. 7. — 19. 7.

Every year, Jakub Krčín, the famous pondkeeper from Třeboň, is released from hell for one day only, and it must be a bigger celebration!

The celebration is dedicated to the memory of Jakub Krčín of Jelčany, a prominent Czech pond builder and architect who made an indelible mark on the history of Třeboň. Krčín is best known for his work on the construction of the Rožmberk pond, the largest pond in the Czech Republic, and his contribution to the development of fish farming is still highly appreciated today.

The annual festivities commemorate not only Krčín's personality and his work, but also the rich history and traditions of Třeboň. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme that includes historical parades, theatre performances, musical concerts and a traditional fair. Special attention will also be paid to children, for whom various games and competitions will be prepared.
