Five-Petalled Rose Festival

Venue: Český Krumlov

19. 6. — 21. 6.

38th year of the historic Five-Leaved Rose Festival

Every year, on the weekend closest to the summer solstice, the centre of Český Krumlov is dominated by historical festivals, which are among the largest of their kind in Europe. The town returns to the Renaissance, its most glorious era, and recalls the glory of the five-leaved rose family. Period music plays everywhere, there are sword fights, jugglers and juggling performances, theatre and dance performances, children and adults can play period games, and market vendors offer their wares. There are also exhibitions and demonstrations of horse work.

The atmosphere of the time is perfectly evoked by spectacular costumed processions from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. Several hundred costumed characters provide an unforgettable experience: nobles, townspeople, musicians, jugglers, knights on horseback, craftsmen and other characters associated with the city.

The night fire parades are particularly impressive, illuminating the corners of the historic centre with magical fire patterns and light magic.

Programme 2026 in preparation.
