Festival Krumlov - International Music Festival

Venue: Český Krumlov

17. 7. — 8. 8.

Festival Krumlov (International Music Festival Český Krumlov) has been held since 1992. Thanks to the unique connection between the historic town and classical music, it has become a permanent part of the European cultural calendar.

The festival is a celebration of classical music from the 15th to the 21st century. Concerts are held in many places in and around Krumlov: in the interiors and exteriors of the Krumlov castle, in the brewery and monastery gardens, as well as in other remarkable spaces of the city's cultural life. The uniqueness of the environment and the very strong atmosphere has attracted many leading foreign and Czech performers to Krumlov. Every year, the Krumlov Festival presents the top names of the world music scene.

Over the years, the festival has welcomed such world music personalities as Plácido Domingo, Jonas Kaufmann, Renée Fleming, José Cura, Ramón Vargas, Broadway soloists and Piotr Beczała. Czech artists include Adam Plachetka, Eva Urbanova, Dagmar Pecková, Václav Hudeček, Pavel Šporcl, Jiří Bárta and many others. At the same time, the festival also gives an opportunity to young and emerging artists.

The 35th edition of the Krumlov Festival will offer more than forty concerts at fourteen different venues in Český Krumlov and its surroundings, including three brand new ones. From July 17 to August 8, 2026, three world premieres will be performed, among other things, and hundreds of artists from far away continents will be featured. All in the spirit of the main theme, Labyrinth of Stories, with which the festival will celebrate its half-round birthday. The accompanying programme in the Festival Zone will offer free additional musical, cultural, experiential, charitable and educational projects.
