The last Friday in May will belong to a unique spiritual and cultural event in Volare. As part of the nationwide event Night of Churches, the local church of St. Catherine will open its doors, which has prepared a rich program full of music, history and a common meeting for visitors.

The programme will start at 18:00 with a Czech-German Marian devotion. This will underline the cross-border dimension of the region, as it will be accompanied by the "Grenzenlos" group from Ruderting near Passau. The service will be officiated by Fathers Markus Krell and Karel Falář.

Youth music and Mozart variations

The evening will continue in a cultural spirit. From 7:00 pm, youth and talent will be given space in the form of a concert by pupils of the local Primary School of Arts (ZUŠ Volary). The musical climax of the evening will then come after 8 pm.

"From 8:15 pm, visitors can look forward to a block entitled Angel Variations with Mozart. It will feature the excellent Jitka Baštová, whose accordion playing in the church promises an unforgettable acoustic experience," the organisers entice.

A look into history with an expert

For those interested in the architecture and fate of the Volhynian landmark, a guided tour of the church is prepared at 19:45. The guide will be none other than Jaroslav Pulkrábek, who will reveal the secrets and curiosities associated with this monument.
