Saint Wenceslas Celebrations Český Krumlov

Locality: Český Krumlov

The last weekend of September in Český Krumlov is in the spirit of celebrating the coming autumn. The town becomes the site of the St. Wenceslas Celebrations and the International Folklore Festival.

The traditional autumn festivities offer not only cultural but also rich gastronomic experience. The celebrations in honour of St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech land, as well as all brewers and winemakers, are accompanied by plenty of good food, drink, entertainment, a varied programme for families with children, concerts and untraditional guided tours.

The pleasant atmosphere of the festivities is completed by the St. Wenceslas Fair and a parade of folklore groups, which will perform at several places throughout the historic centre as part of the International Folklore Festival and will make many spectators dance along.

The traditional meeting of Václavs and Václavas and the festive concert with the final singing of the St. Wenceslas chant will also be held during the celebrations. The icing on the cake is the St. Wenceslas evening of open museums and galleries with an accompanying programme.
