Poněšice is located 9 km from Hluboká nad Vltavou. It is possible to arrive by car and park for free, or take a bus from the main bus station in České Budějovice.

The Poněšice family distillery was founded in 2002. Its creation in the farm section of a South Bohemian homestead in the picturesque village of Poněšice (near Hluboká nad Vltavou) was the realization of its owner’s dream. As retirement approached, the idea of excessive free time seemed so terrifying that it transformed into the founding of a distillery. It is true that for several years now, the owner of the Poněšice distillery has had no reason to complain about too much free time. A growing number of satisfied customers and the already well-known quality of Poněšice spirits and liqueurs keep him busy from Monday to Sunday.
