Museum of Historical Radios

Museum of Historical Radios

The museum features around 180 historical radio receivers, the oldest from 1927.

It is located in the cultural center of the village, along with the Municipal Museum and the Passion Play Museum.

The original owner of almost all exhibits (except for about five on loan) was a local collector, Mr. Antonín Brodňanský, who spent many years collecting, repairing, and storing radios in his small one-room apartment.

When his passion outgrew his living space, he proposed to the mayor that the unique collection be made available to the public. The exhibition was organized and realized by a group of Mr. Brodňanský’s friends with help from the municipality. Antonín Brodňanský donated the collection to the village. Visiting this unique museum is a lovely addition for visitors to the Český Krumlov region.

The oldest radio is the Radioglob TA 27 from 1927. There is also an even older crystal receiver from 1916. Visitors can view radios from companies such as Philips, Telefunken, Telegrafia, Sigma, Iron, Eumig, Rel, Blaupunkt, and of course, Tesla.

There are around 180 radios on display at any time.

A small teaser of the collection can also be seen at the Municipal Museum in Český Krumlov.
