Blatná City Museum
The best regional museum with a permanent exhibition and year-round temporary exhibitions. There is a great game that guides you through the museum – winning is guaranteed!
The Blatná City Museum focuses on the history of Blatná and its surroundings. It organizes several exhibitions throughout the year, not only in its museum building but also in public places in Blatná, such as the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary or the area in front of Blatná Castle. Since the museum building was originally a district governor’s office, there are well-preserved prison cells beneath the museum that can be visited by appointment. A permanent exhibition is currently being developed, with two new sections already open: "Prehistoric Blatná" and "From the Middle Ages to the Thirty Years' War".

Do you know that...
Blatná is the city of roses. The tradition of cultivating the queen of flowers dates back to the 1930s. Since 2020, the rose beds have been blooming again.
