Bison Enclosure in Veclov
You can observe a herd of American bison in an enclosure near Staré Město pod Landštejnem.
The bison is a large even-toed ungulate from the bovine family; males can reach a height of up to 170 cm and weigh around a ton. The bison's original homeland is the prairies of North America. Around 1867, the plains bison was nearly exterminated, but thanks to strict protection measures, it was eventually saved.
