Borkovická Blata Nature Trail
The Borkovická Blata Nature Reserve represents the northernmost peat bog of the Třeboň Basin. It is a protected area located near the village of Borkovice, close to Veselí nad Lužnicí.
The trail passes through a nature reserve with unique peat bog vegetation, including bog pine forests and sedge-cotton grass wetlands. Along the trail, visitors can also see machines once used for peat extraction, which was historically conducted in the area. Most of the 6.5 km long trail leads over wooden boardwalks.
Location: About 8 km northwest of Veselí nad Lužnicí (by car, follow directions to Žíšov and Borkovice). The trail is marked with tourist signs (yellow trail, connecting to the blue trail 2 km from Borkovice).
