Radětice Lookout Tower
The wooden lookout tower near Bechyně, with a total height of 13 meters, has 3 observation platforms, 1 intermediate level, and 44 steps. In clear weather, around 30 villages and settlements can be seen.
How to get there
You can reach the vicinity of the tower by car. From Bechyně, head toward Bernartice until you arrive in the village of Radětice. In the village square, turn left in front of the chapel and follow the asphalt field road. Drive to the edge of the forest, where you’ll park your car and continue on foot along the path to the right of the forest, all the way to the tower.
The nearest train station is in Bechyně (rail line no. 202 Tábor – Bechyně).
There is no marked tourist trail to the tower. One way to reach it on foot is to follow the same route as by car – first follow the blue trail from Bechyně, then continue along the road to Radětice, about 5 km in total. Another way is to follow the green trail from Bechyně toward the settlement of Nepomuk, but after entering the forest, when the path turns left, continue straight on an unmarked forest path. You’ll reach a field, and from there continue along the edge of the forest to the tower. This route is about 6 km long.
