Nuclear power plant Temelín

Nuclear power plant Temelín invites you to the Infocentre in the castle Vysoký Hrádek

In the immediate vicinity of Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, 24 km north of České Budějovice, stands the Renaissance chateau Vysoký hrádek. In its historic interiors, however, you will not see anything that is usually found in the chateaus. It is home to the Temelin Power Plant Incentive Center, which offers visitors an attractive wandering for core power.

Temelin Nuclear Power Station invites everyone interested in the Temelin power plant and its operation to learn something about the excursion. You will learn, for example, how the nuclear reactor is controlled, what is the yellow cake and what you can discover in the so-called mist chamber. You will also be able to see the Sun Journey or the Utopia Performances. However, what is hidden under these names does not predict.

On the first floor of the chateau a large exposition is available to interested parties. In the northern wing of the building, in the first part of the exhibition, you will learn how the theme of nuclear power is related to relatives and neighbors (Hall 1, 2). Greater attention is then devoted to the energy hidden in the mass - the nuclear energy, the principles of its release (Hall 3) and eventually the entire fuel cycle (Hall 4). The second part of the exhibition, in the southern wing of the building, is focused on the Temelín power plant and its surroundings (Hall 5), the functional arrangement, the most important equipment and topics related to the operation of the power plant (Hall 6). On the space models, you will see a stop plan, a major production block that shows the most important device in the cut, the nuclear reactor forming the main part of the primary circuit, and the nuclear fuel that breaks down in the reactor. The whole exhibition will be attended by trained personnel and at the end of the tour you will receive information printed matter and brochures (Hall 7).

In addition, you can test your knowledge in a fun quiz, get familiar with selected power plant areas in a virtual tour on your PC or try to drive a production block on a computer simulator. The whole exhibition will be attended by trained personnel and at the end of the tour you will receive information printed matter and brochures (Hall 7).

For those who are interested in free sightseeing and individual visitors, the information center is open daily from 09.00 to 16.00, in July and August from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. Individual excursions are available at the cinema (film , mist chamber) is only possible if there is no excursion of the previously ordered group. To make sure the cinema is free at the given day and hour, we recommend contacting the infocenter. Groups of min. 5 people must be ordered in advance. The excursion is free for all visitors.
