Forest Elf Trail
A circular trail for families with children.
Located within reach of the town center and the immediate surroundings of the historic Solar Waterworks. Part of the trail follows the current walking circuit around Vimperk and is approximately 1.5 km long. The Forest Elf Trail is a circular path for families with children, created as a joint project of the town of Vimperk and Vimperk Municipal Forests, with support from the Šumava National Park Administration.
The full length is just under two kilometers (including a relatively steep access path about 300 meters long). The trail offers beautiful views of the historic town center and the castle.
Parking: You can use the parking lot at Hotel Terasa. The trail entrance is located directly across the road (a narrow paved path between garden plots).
The trail is not wheelchair accessible – part of it runs through forest slopes, part on hardened paths, and some parts may be muddy.
Along the trail you’ll find elf houses with stamps, elf figures, environmental games, throwing activities, and sound-makers. A postcard where children can collect stamps is available at the Vimperk Information Center. Once completed, children can collect a small reward there. In summer, a photo panel is placed in front of the information center.

Note: Before starting the trail, you must cross a railway track, which the trail partially follows. Children are the responsibility of their parents. Use of the trail is at your own risk.
