The Vltava River from Vyšší Brod
The middle section of the Vltava River, from Vyšší Brod through Rožmberk and further, is the most popular river among Czech paddlers.
In Vyšší Brod, you can board your own or rented boats (there are many well-equipped rental services in and around Vyšší Brod), and enjoy the river all the way to České Budějovice. The river leaves the Lipno region below the walls of Rožmberk Castle. Due to its popularity, the river is often very crowded in the peak summer season, so for those seeking a more natural and peaceful paddling experience, we recommend setting out in June or September, when the rush of hundreds or thousands of boats is less intense.
