Folk Baroque
The Veselská blata area comprises several villages northwest of Veselí nad Lužnicí that have best preserved their original character, where most farmstead owners maintain their buildings in traditional form.
These villages include Borkovice, Mažice, Zálší, Klečaty, Komárov, Svinky, Vlastiboř, and Záluží. "Folk Baroque" is a term for the unique architectural style of South Bohemia. A typical structure of this style is a large farmhouse with two richly decorated gables connected by an arched gate with a small doorway. The Blata gables are beautifully adorned.
