Through the Lomnice Valley
For lovers of untouched wilderness with scenery akin to mountain streams, take a train from Písek to the Dolní Ostrovec stop. Follow the green trail to the Avia recreation area at Skalice. Then take the red trail along the right bank to the confluence with Lomnice, and continue upstream to the bridge. From there, switch to the blue trail and return to Ostrovec. Most of the route stays close to the water – you can try wading across or perform a "double chamois leap" on the boulders in the riverbed. Cyclists encounter this section along the Sedláček Trail (E10) from Písek to Zvíkov.
