Exhibition: Waters of the Novohradské Mountains and Petříkov
The exhibition focuses on the waters of the Novohradské Mountains’ catchment area, with particular emphasis on the Stropnice River and the life around it.
Petříkov is a small village located northeast of Nové Hrady. A major railway line from České Budějovice to České Velenice runs through the village, making it easily accessible. Another important feature crossing the village is the Stropnice River. Within the municipality’s administrative territory lies the Červené blato nature reserve, which includes a circular educational trail. Thanks to the Stropnice River, Červené blato, numerous ponds, pools and wetlands, the village has a deep connection with water. This naturally led to the creation of an exhibition dedicated to the waters of the Novohradské Mountains' catchment area, with emphasis on the Stropnice River, the life surrounding it, and significant historical phenomena linked to the Petříkov region. The exhibition is located by the local primary school and is accessible by appointment with the school’s headmaster.
