Rural Museum

Rural Museum

The museum features a collection of agricultural items

The Rural Museum is located in the village of Líšnice, 12 km north of Hluboká nad Vltavou, 25 km from České Budějovice).

The museum is part of a farmstead and is housed in a four-story building used as a granary until the early 1950s, then as a dump. It was repaired gradually from the late 1990s, with major changes taking place in 2004, when the inner and outer plasterwork was renovated, the wooden floors and stairs treated and new wiring installed.

The exhibition is divided thematically into several sections:

  • The ground floor features cabinet-making, forging and horse teams
  • The second floor features flax processing, work with cereals and farm tools
  • The third floor displays items of everyday use – furniture, dishes, sewing machines, radios
