Lookout of the Písek Foresters
The lookout at the foot of Jarník Hill received its official name in 1934.
Although the view is no longer perfect due to the tall surrounding trees, the spot is still worth visiting.
The lookout is located near the final stop of the Path of Painful Stones.
How to get there
The best access is via the Path of Painful Stones, which begins at the crossroads U Vodáka (see below).
Additional information
The Path of Painful Stones, also known by its creators as the Modern Person’s Way of the Cross, is located on the eastern edge of the town of Písek, in the Písek Hills.
It begins at the U Vodáka junction and follows the blue tourist trail through the picturesque forests of Písek.
It is approximately 1.5 km long and includes 14 stations. Each station features a massive stone block with a metal ring bearing the name of a sorrow and a ruby-red glass lens symbolizing a drop of blood.
The entire project was created by students of the Business Academy and Language School with the right to state language examinations in Písek.
It draws on the symbolism of the Christian Way of the Cross – fourteen sorrows, fourteen stations leading to the summit – the Station of Hope.
