Řežabinec Observation Tower

Řežabinec Observation Tower

The lookout structure near the village was built in 1985 as a birdwatching tower for observing waterfowl on the adjacent Řežabinec pond. The total height of the tower is 7 meters, but visitors can observe the surroundings only from the second level at a height of 3 meters.

How to get there

You can reach the tower on foot or by bike via the educational trail around the pond.

You can park your car behind the farm at the southern tip of the pond, where there is a small parking area.

The nearest train station is located directly in Ražice. From the station, follow the railway line towards Plzeň, cross the Ražice–Putim road, and continue along an unmarked dirt road to the farm, where you'll join the educational trail that leads to the tower. The walk is approximately 1.5 km long.

Do you know that...

… the structure has three floors? The ground floor serves as a base for ornithologists, the middle floor – open to the public – is freely accessible, and the top floor is closed and reserved for ornithological observation.
