Observation Tower of the Church of the Assumption of the Vir
The Gothic-origin tower measures 68 meters in height. Above the gallery is a 24-meter-high dome topped with a 5-meter cross. After climbing 153 steps to a height of 35 meters, visitors are rewarded with a panoramic view of the entire town of Jindřichův Hradec, including Vajgar pond, the local castle, and the surrounding countryside.
The original Gothic tower was rebuilt after a major fire in 1801. The original tower was one floor taller and had seven bells, one of which, called Knaur, was the second-largest bell in Bohemia at the time.
