Hýlačka Lookout Tower
The lookout tower, with a total height of 37 m, was opened in 2015. From the observation platform at 25 m, it offers panoramic views, for example of the outlines of the Novohradské Mountains, the Mladovožicko region and Chotoviny, the Šumava peaks (Boubín, Plechý), or the Temelín towers.
How to get there
You can park your car at the Hýlačka parking lot. From the parking lot, you can reach the tower via a blue‑marked tourist trail in just under 500 meters.
If you arrive by train, get off at the Horky u Tábora station. From the station, you’ll follow the blue trail for 880 meters to the lookout tower.
You can also comfortably reach the tower by mountain bike or road bike.
Do you know that...
…does the tower stand next to the spot where the original wooden Hýlačka, shaped like a Hussite watchtower, once stood? That one burned down in 2012.
