Libín Lookout Tower
The Libín Lookout Tower dates back to 1883 and is located above the settlement of Libínské Sedlo. The 27-meter-high tower has 138 steps leading to the top and offers panoramic views of Šumava, including peaks such as Plechý, Stožec, Knížecí Stolec, Boubín, Javorník, and Churáňov.

How to get there
Ways to reach the lookout tower:
- By car: Prachatice → Libínské Sedlo → continue towards Volary → after about 1 km, turn left → follow the road to the parking lot at "Sedýlko" → from there, it is only 2 km on foot through the forest along the blue trail or via an asphalt road, suitable for families with strollers.
- Via the red tourist trail from Prachatice: Malé náměstí Prachatice → Lázně sv. Markéty junction → Lázně sv. Markéty → Nad Lázněmi → Na hřebenu → Libín (1,096 m a.s.l.).
- Via the green tourist trail from Prachatice: Malé náměstí Prachatice → Pod Černou horou → Pod Perlovicemi → Libínské Sedlo → then follow the blue trail to Libín (1,096 m a.s.l.).
- Combination of car and hiking: Drive to Libínské Sedlo, then walk 2 km along the blue tourist trail to the tower.
- Combination of train and hiking: Take the train from Prachatice to Chroboly station and walk 8 km along the blue tourist trail to the tower.
