Volenice Folk Farm Museum
The Folk Farm Museum introduces visitors to the life of rural residents in southwestern Bohemia approximately seventy years ago. In the kitchen, you’ll find period dishware and a classic cupboard. In the living room, sturdy wardrobes, an old sewing machine, and a vintage radio catch the eye. The stable contains tools once commonly used by farmers in fields and for livestock care. The barn features various machines, including a grain thresher.
The museum took several years to establish. After the last owner’s death, the property – consisting of a residence, barn, and stables – was purchased by the municipality. The village also contributed financially to the restoration, along with the South Bohemian Region and the Ministry of Culture. Total renovation costs reached around 2.5 million CZK.
The Volenice Folk Farm Museum offers an authentic look at rural life in southwestern Bohemia as it was seventy years ago.
