Church of St. Philip and St. James in Tábor

The oldest church in Tábor, boasting a new bell from 2021, also allows civil ceremonies in the church premises. It is surrounded by an extensive park.

The Church of St. Philip and St. James in Tábor is the oldest sacred building in the city. Originally a chapel by Kotnov Castle under the Bechyně Gate, it is located in close proximity to Tábor’s Old Town. Today, the church belongs to the city and is used for concerts, weddings, and other events. The Old Catholic Church actively uses it, so both religious (for church wedding: al.sassmann@volny.cz, 777335549) and civil weddings are possible.

The church is surrounded by Pod Kotnov Park, a former cemetery that offers many spots for hosting a ceremony.
