Velký Kamýk Lookout Tower
The iron lookout tower also serves as a transmitter for a mobile operator. From the 31-meter-high observation platform, there is a beautiful view of the Písek Hills, the Brdy Mountains, and the Šumava (Bohemian Forest). The total height of the tower is 65 meters.
How to get there
You can drive directly to the base of the tower. The route leads from Písek via Velké Nepodřice. At the end of the village, turn left onto a dirt road, then after about 300 meters, turn left again onto another dirt road that will take you directly to the tower.
The nearest train station is in Písek. From the station, follow the red hiking trail, which leads beyond the village Velké Nepodřice, then turn left onto an unmarked dirt road leading to the tower. The total distance is approximately 7.5 km.
Additional information
The lookout tower is usually open without restrictions; alternatively, you can get the key from house no. 22 in Velké Nepodřice.
Souvenirs are available at the municipal office in Dobev or at the tourist information center in Písek.
