Třístoličník Viewpoint
Třístoličník (Dreisesselberg) (1333 m) is a mountain near the tripoint of Bohemia, Bavaria, and Austria. It is one of the most significant and most visited peaks of the Šumava region, featuring bizarre rock formations and breathtaking views of the Czech interior and the Alpine peaks.
How to get there
You can drive almost all the way to Třístoličník from the German side via Strážný and Haidmühle. There is a parking lot near the top, and from there it's just a one-kilometre walk to the summit. From the summit, you can enjoy a beautiful ridge hike to Plechý (7 km).
Alternatively, you can take a train from anywhere to Stožec, continue to the border station Nové Údolí, and hike up to the summit of Třístoličník along the red tourist trail (8 km).
Do you know that...
