Owl Sanctuary Borová Lada
Visit the largest owl aviary in the Czech Republic.
Outdoor aviaries for songbirds and a group of owls native to the Šumava region. You’ll see twenty different owl species flying above your head. The site includes educational panels and observation scopes. The owls are on free loan from the zoos in Hluboká nad Vltavou and Plzeň.
You’ll meet species like the Eurasian eagle-owl, Ural owl, long-eared owl, tawny owl, boreal owl, barn owl, stock dove, and common kestrel.
How to get there
From the parking area (approx. 250 m, same side of the road towards Horní Vltavice), a boardwalk (about 150 m) leads directly to the sanctuary.
Additional information
Dogs are not allowed inside the facility. Kennels are available near the entrance where your dogs may wait. Keys are available from staff. Thank you for your understanding.
