Pětnice Lookout Tower
The viewing tower is part of a mobile operator’s transmitter on a hill near Volyně, 20 km northwest of Strakonice. From the 25-meter-high platform, there are wonderful views of the Blatná, Horažďovice, and Strakonice regions, the Brdy Hills, Šumava Mountains, and even the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant.
Traditional souvenirs are available – commemorative tickets, tourist stamps, yellow postcards from the nationwide “Towers of the Czech Republic” series, and magnets.
How to get there
By car, take the road from Blatná to Horažďovice, then turn right after the village of Záboří toward Čečelovice – parking is available on a forest path near the tower.
