History of Kvítkův Dvůr

Kvítkův Dvůr is located to the west of Český Krumlov Castle on the eastern slope of Liščí díra hill, near the old pilgrimage route to Kájov. It likely originated as the residence of a vassal of the Krumlov lords in the 13th or 14th century. In 1423, during the Hussite siege of the city, it was reportedly burned down. The current appearance of Kvítkův Dvůr dates from a major Baroque renovation after 1750, followed by a smaller renovation in the last decade of the 19th century. The historical interiors, with their paintings by František Jakub Prokyš, are unique.

Current Use

Kvítkův Dvůr is privately owned, but it hosts public tours, concerts, wedding ceremonies, and entire weddings. The venue is also available for renting social spaces for other celebratory events.

Tours of Kvítkův Dvůr

When there are no concerts, weddings, or other events, Kvítkův Dvůr is open for tours. Regular and special guided tours can be found in the event calendar. Guided tours can also be arranged by phone for other times. The tour focuses on the history, architecture, artistic decoration, and many other interesting aspects, including a demonstration of the excellent acoustics of the painted hall using the organ.

Rental of Ceremony Spaces

The painted hall and associated spaces such as the banquet hall, kitchen, and study are available for wedding ceremonies or other celebratory events. The hall can accommodate up to 66 people, while the banquet hall can hold 30 people. Despite being only 600 meters from the Castle Garden and no more than 2 kilometers from the historical city center, Kvítkův Dvůr stands in solitude away from tourist traffic, providing complete freedom for organizing concerts or accompanying programs for weddings and other special occasions.
