Additional information

During the tour of the castle you can see the interesting original Renaissance interiors with Mannerist paintings and rich figurative stucco decoration, where hunting, music, cultural and social pleasures of the last Rožmberks and their guests took place at the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century. One of the most valuable of the interiors is the Golden Hall with its lunette vaulted ceiling, which was used for representational purposes.

The Italian plasterer Antonio Malana also contributed to the relief decoration of the castle during the 16th century and Georg Widman provided the painting. The builder Baldassare Maggi of Arogna was commissioned to construct the castle.
