Additional information
In the newly renovated former granary in Ražice near Písek, visitors can explore a permanent exhibition. The first section focuses on the nearby Řežabinec National Nature Reserve and the Řežabinec Ponds. The second section is dedicated to the railway, as Ražice is located at the intersection of two important regional railway lines – České Budějovice–Plzeň and Ražice–Tábor.
The museum also includes a children’s corner with touchscreen games, quizzes, and nature- and railway-themed coloring pages. In good weather, the outdoor “Orange Playground” offers many attractions, including a popular zip line.
Your visit can include a walk to the nearby Řežabinec pond, a major bird reserve. With a bit of luck, visitors may also spot hedgehogs, otters, or newts. A 3 km nature trail with information panels circles the reserve. A freely accessible observation tower provides scenic views of the landscape.
