Kadov Rocking Stone

Kadov Rocking Stone

One of the largest and best-preserved granite rocking stones in the Czech Republic. The oldest record of the Kadov rocking stone dates back to 1856. The boulder has a circumference of over 11 meters.

The Kadov rocking stone is located in a small park near the municipal office in Kadov. Nearby is an educational trail called "Around the Kadov Rocking Stone." The boulder itself is one of 13 stops along the approximately 6 km long trail.

It attracted the attention not only of scientists but also of stonemasons, who carved grooves into it in an attempt to insert wedges and break the stone. Thanks to the intervention of the district office, their efforts failed, and the stone has been preserved to this day.
