Milevsko Museum
A unique place where history, tradition, and the present come together. You’ll be welcomed in the second courtyard of the Milevsko Monastery.
The archaeological exhibition tells the story of the town and its surroundings, with findings dating back to prehistoric times. You’ll also find a 17th-century tower clock symbolizing capital punishment rights, an American 20-pound bomb that fell on the Milevsko train station in April 1945 and miraculously did not explode, and children can try what it’s like to be a real archaeologist.
But that’s not all — upstairs awaits more. In the Military Hall, gentlemen will find a war axe from the 15th century, a collection of 19th-century melee weapons, and a battlefield model of a 1744 clash between Prussian and Hungarian hussars. Ladies, on the other hand, can enjoy the "Grandma’s Room," with an American laundry wringer, undergarments from 100 years ago, and the Kozácka folk costume. Children will love the Puppet Salon, where colorful lighting brings puppets from across the region to life.
