Špejchar Želeč and Obora Brewery
A blend of art, history, and great beer. Are you interested in historical farming equipment, tools, and machinery? Then be sure to visit Želeč near Tábor!
The former granary building has replaced grain with an almost complete collection of historic agricultural machinery. You’ll find old carts, threshers, plows, and harnesses, along with toys, wicker prams, and various household items that tell the story of rural life.
If you'd like to enhance your trip with a bit of art, head upstairs to the first floor to explore the gallery with a permanent exhibition of painter Alois Doležel.
But that's not all. The owner of the granary, Mr. Novák, also runs Obora Brewery, where he brews beer using his own hops and malt. The beer is available at the granary, of course. Or, you can visit the nearby village of Obora and enjoy a beer at the Novák family farm, surrounded by paintings by local artist František Boháč and other masters.
