New Castle and Vítek z Prčice Brewery
The most famous noble family, a “New Castle” and brewery—at first glance, an unusual combo. But everything comes together at the New Castle Vítek z Prčice in Sedlec‑Prčice.
The castle does not exist yet. The brewery owner, Mr. Kroužil, is still building it—hence the “new” castle. Both brewery and castle are being built on the site of the original fortress, home to the ancestor of all the House of the Five‑Petaled Rose (including the Rosenbergs), Vítek z Prčice.
Since time immemorial, noble feasts have gone hand in hand with fine drink. In a guided museum visit, you’ll explore the life of the most powerful Czech noble family and uncover the secrets and history of brewing. Vítek z Prčice beer is brewed here using old recipes, so no batch tastes exactly the same. You can also take part in brewery competitions or the traditional Vítek celebrations.
