Church of Corpus Christi – Slavonice
The Church is located on the northwestern edge of Slavonice, along the Grasel Trail.
It is the oldest building in Slavonice, probably dating back to around 1280. Originally a Gothic construction, it was burned down during a Hussite siege. It was repaired in 1437. In the second half of the 16th century, it became a Protestant church and was dedicated to the Holy Spirit. Further modifications followed: a third nave was added in the third quarter of the century (completed in 1677), and in 1620, the southern Loreto Chapel was built. The three-nave church retains Gothic masonry and, in the presbytery, partially preserved round ribs from the original vaulting height. The main altar is early Baroque with a painting of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary (1771), while the interior also includes a Rococo pilgrimage altar (1780) and a side altar of St. Florian and St. Rosalia.
