Stations of the Cross and Chapel of the Holy Spirit
The Stations of the Cross in Vlachovo Březí are protected as an immovable cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Located on the northwestern edge of the town on the so-called Pentecost Hill, the path leads to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
The Way of the Cross comprises fourteen masonry chapels featuring Passion scenes originally painted in the 19th century by František Mikule from Jinín near Strakonice. The paintings were later restored by local artists František Matoušek and brothers Jindřich and Jan Boška.
At the summit of the path stands the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, behind which are three Calvary crosses and the Holy Sepulchre.
