Heydl House in Prachatice
Discover a multifaceted house.
This burgher house with a Gothic core was rebuilt in the Renaissance style after 1540 and later modified in the Classicist style. The building is notable for its sgraffito decoration on the façade, which includes "envelope" patterns and figurative ornaments.
The original parapet is adorned with portraits of unknown individuals interspersed with floral motifs. Below them is a sgraffito band with figurative compositions depicting naked figures. At the right corner of the house, you can notice an image of a man with a boy, above whom is a plaque with the name "Heydl".
