This Renaissance burgher house is located on the Great Square (Velké náměstí) and is part of an extensive building complex constructed in the mid-15th century. Rumpál House ranks among the most historically valuable buildings of the town’s heritage conservation zone.
The house features Renaissance sgraffito decoration, executed using a brick red-brown coloring technique. The design reveals a lower layer of grayish-blue tinted plaster with engraved lines accentuated in red. Between the windows, be sure to notice the five Landsknechts – a historical term once used for soldiers.
