Painted Glass and Plates from Lenora
Paintings by Mr. Mgr. Vlastimil Randák from Houžná.
The artist is a direct descendant of the free Šumava settlers known as the "Králováci." His Šumava-themed designs on glass and plates decorate interiors as far away as Canada and New Zealand. At the shop, visitors are greeted by Charlie Oliver von Vajgar, the largest tomcat in the Šumava region.
The artist paints on sheet glass of various sizes using special paints. By applying the colors in reverse to the back of the glass, he creates traditional Šumava “reverse paintings on glass.” The hand-painted plates feature well-known Šumava landscapes and floral designs. Each product is a one-of-a-kind original.
