Pilgrimage Church of St. Anne – Kraselov
The Baroque pilgrimage Church of St. Anne was founded in 1682 at a reportedly miraculous spring. It is located on a hill along the road from Kraselov to Lhota. In addition to the spring, a late Gothic statue of St. Anne from 1520 became the object of veneration. It remains placed on the main altar to this day.
In 1720, a covered corridor – an ambulatory – was built around the church, with three chapels and a bell tower established at the corners. In 1761, a spa building was constructed at the nearby healing spring, and a linden alley was planted leading from the Church of St. Anne. In 1967, the oldest linden tree in this alley had a trunk circumference of 580 cm. However, the small spa did not survive for more than a few decades.
The church offers a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. One can see not only as far as Kraselov, but even as far as Strakonice.
