Mining Educational Trail Albrechtovice
Explore the only known and publicly accessible historical gold mining site in the Prachatice district
The story of historical gold and silver mining in the Záblatská Valley Basin. This is a unique and currently the only known and accessible site of historical gold mining in the Prachatice district.
The trail features five informational panels, introducing visitors to the history of ore mining in this area. The topics covered at the stops include: History, Shaft, Adit, Ore Veins, Processing Plant, and general information about mining in the region.
Explore the 5.5 km route:
Pod Perlovicemi → Nad Čertovým mlýnem → Čertův mlýn → Albrechtovice → Libínské Sedlo → Pod Perlovicemi
- Starting point: "Pod Perlovicemi", where you can park your car. From here, descend 2 km along the yellow hiking trail across meadows to the Farský stream. After crossing the stream, continue about 100 meters to reach the Mining Educational Trail. Along the way, you will pass two military bunkers.
- After exploring the educational trail, ascend 0.5 km along the yellow trail to Albrechtovice. Behind house no. 42, turn left and follow the blue-marked trail.
- Descend 0.5 km along an asphalt road to the Farský stream again. Then follow the stream upstream for 1.5 km until you reach Libínské Sedlo. Here, you can refresh yourself at the pub "U Brabců" or at the restaurant of Hotel Libínské Sedlo.
- Finally, descend 0.5 km along the blue-marked trail back to the starting point "Pod Perlovicemi".
The trail is also suitable for small children, with a gentle terrain through forests and meadows. For older children, the route can start or end in Prachatice (signpost „Pod Černou Horou“). The trail is not suitable for strollers.
