Museum Špejchar Razice

Museum Špejchar Razice

In the building of the former granary in Razice there is an exposition dedicated to the Řežabinec Nature Reserve and the railway.

In the newly reconstructed building of the former granary in Ražice u Písku you can visit a permanent exhibition. The first part of the exhibition concerns the nearby Řežabinec National Nature Reserve and the Řežabinec Pool. The second part is devoted to the railway due to the location of the village of Ražice, which lies at the crossroads of two important regional railway lines - České Budějovice - Plzeň and Ražice - Tábor.

The exhibition includes, among other things, a track on which a train runs at regular intervals. There is also a children's corner in the museum where children can play interactive games and quiz on touch screens or colour colouring books with nature and railway themes. In good weather, you can use the outdoor Orange Playground with many attractions, including the popular cable car.

You can combine your visit to the museum with a walk to the nearby Řežabinec pond, which is an important bird sanctuary. If you are lucky, you can also see other species of animals (e.g. hedgehogs, otters, boas). There is a 3 km long nature trail around the whole reserve, complete with information boards. There is also a freely accessible lookout tower from which you can observe the surrounding nature.

Spejchar is located near the railway station and bus stop, or you can park directly at the building.
